Six years ago today, I made the very first post on ninebullets and some 2,200 posts later here we are. It’s been a long and interesting journey. Along the way I started the podcast, wrote a few pieces for local papers and even got a radio show. I also brought on a handful of other writers. Other writers who, to be frank, have carried the site throughout this year. If it weren’t for them, I am confident that 9b would have closed down this year as I tried to grapple with my dad dying in slow motion and other life stresses. Mr. Hale has even helped me pick up the slack on the 9b Podcasts. So, first off, I’d like to thank those guys for keeping the site alive this year. The window on my father appears to be closing pretty quickly at this point and, to quote a Counting Crows song; “there’s reason to believe that maybe this year will be better than the last.”
This year. To celebrate. I am going away. I’m getting on an airplane tomorrow and going out west for a week and I’m not taking any electronics with me. I’m getting away from everything. Regular musical postings will resume on October 1, 2012 but for now, I need a break. A break from the internets. A break from my dying father. A break from my job. I guess, in the end, I need a break from my day to day. So, see y’all in a week.
And don’t forget about the big birthday party we’re throwing on October 6!
