Honestly, this probably wasn’t what the band envisioned when they booked a small tour through the Southeast in support of their new album, For Dear Life, but the road can be a cruel mistress and she decided to slap the band around pretty hard this time out. Larry, the drummer, fell head-first into a campfire, resulting in a couple of nights in a Georgia burn unit (for his hand, not his head). Then Bob, the bassist, somehow managed to break a rib. Caleb and Pete managed to make it back to Florida in one piece but Saturday night’s show ar New World was just Pete solo, thus turning the rock show into a singer/songwriter show.
The few people who stuck around to see the show were treated to sights of me pretty much wasted and of a very apologetic Pete playing tracks from the new album, as well as songs from his solo acoustic album. Hopefully the band will get mended up and come back to Tampa with the full rock show and celebrate the new cd properly: LOUD.
You can buy a digital copy of the album on a “pay what you want” basis on their website.

oh we will. it broke my heart not to be able to play out the rest of the tour, the reverend horton heat show, and tampa. and i’m sidelined for tomorrow’s richard buckner show the nine volts are opening.
but by the time stein gets back from his solo tour, i’ll be ready to go and we’ll try to get to tampa before year’s end.
ps: i was hospitalized in chapel hill @ unc. everybody there was great and the food was even pretty good.
The album is great. Hopefully, there’ll be a Michigan show with the entire band intact. -Skip
With a public health care option our favorite bands can afford to fall in campfires and break their ribs..
