Haha! Yes, the show sounds like it was a complete success. I attribute their "better spirits, shape, and sanity than I’ve ever seen them" to the bus. The bus equals less drinking and less bitching at each other, I'm sure. Although, Jim Spake said some kind words about how out of all the bands that he's toured with, Lucero boys get along with each other better than any other band, past or present. Memphis has ALWAYS had the frat boy presence at Lucero shows. Instead of Lauris Vidal, we had The Takers. Lauris was at the show though - we talked for a bit. I promised him a big crowd for the NWB show! HGWT is not as big as they are in the Tampa area, but that is slowly changing. Good, appreciative crowd, though. Whiskey Gentry brought it, too! The Takers gave us a gift of a new song, too!
