Old time banjo gospel meets doom country, with the occasional appearance of a kazoo.

If that sentence wasn’t enough to get you to press play on the songs below, then I just don’t know what to do with you. So, press play down there and then continue reading.

The Dad Horse Experience is Dad Horse Ottn from Bremen, Germany. His debut cd, Too Close To Heaven, was released on what is quickly becoming one of my favorite labels, Devil’s Ruin Records. Like so many before him, Dad came to the one-man band scene via punk rock music and his influences range from The Carter Family and Roy Acuff to Jonathan Richman and Johnny Cash. His sound can most simply be described as oddly humorous lo-fi country gospel with a murderous streak that only wants to save your soul.
