P.S.: If you like this show, do me a favor and post about it on your Facebook/Twitter/Blog. It’ll do a lot to help these bands reach new ears…and in the end, that’s what this is all about. It’ll also help bring the existence of the radio show to more people’s attention & the more people there are listening/paying attention to the show the more likely it is to stay on the air.

Episode 165: aired 03.01.2014

In lieu of the usual album cover at the top of this post I decided that the opening to “It Might Get Loud” was the only proper way to open this piece. Really, I could leave it at that video, post a few songs, some links and call this a win. But I think you might need to know a little more about these kids first:>

White Trash Blues Revival are Joe Bent (Skiddely-bo/Vox), Sausage Paw <---Brenn Beck of Left Lane Cruiser (Trash cans/stompin), Ando (Gutbucket Bass of Death) and Pete Dio (Keg & Cardboard box) straight out of the punk-blues mecca that it Fort Wayne, Indiana. The first thing you should have noticed is that there is not a single “real” instrument in that list up there. A skiddley-bo, is a skateboard deck with a red stripe bottle on one end, a pick up glued to it and two guitar strings strung across it. A Gutbucket Bass of Death is a washtub flipped upside down with a rope affixed to it and the top of a broomstick up high with the toneage relying on the players tension on the rope by moving the broomstick around. The rest, well…it’s pretty self-explanatory.

We all go to shows and see the generic band with all the shiny strats, all the shiny Les Pauls, all the Marshall stacks and all the overly vague lyrics that scream trying to hard. Well, the WTBR is the polar opposite of that. It’s loose. It’s sloppy. It’s primal. It’s ass raping pretense in the ass with a slide on one finger and a bottle of MD 2020 in the other hand. If you’re a fan of Hillstomp or Left Lane Cruiser, you’re already a fan of these guys. Get on this shit and blues out with your punk out.
