Florida’s favorite sons, Have Gun, Will Travel, will be releasing their new album, Science From An Easy Chair, on July 31 via This Is American Music. The album is a concept album, based on British explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.
“True Believers” is the lead single from the new album and while it is a song about the perseverance of the Endurance and her crew is also serves as a metaphor for the band. Enjoy and preorder the album here.
Have Gun Will Travel have just debuted another video from their latest album, Mergers & Acquisitions. The video is for the song “Dream No More”. I gotta be honest, when I first got the album, I despised this song but in the months since it has become one of my favorite tracks on the cd.
Have Gun is currently beating up the road in support of Mergers & Acquisitions so go check them out if they end up in a town near you….and tell them ninebullets sent you.
The Gaslight Anthem have recently released a video for “Bring It On” off their latest album, American Slang and I figured posting about it would make for a great opportunity to talk about The Horrible Crowes.
The Horrible Crowes is a new band featuring Gaslight’s singer, Brian Fallon and his buddy Ian Perkins. Apparently the album was written on buses, in hotel rooms and even a bathroom while Ian was on tour with Gaslight. The album, Elsie, is set to be released on September 6 and I, for one, can’t wait.
Last night The Beastie Boys debuted their brand new video Fight For Your Right (revisited) on the MTV family of networks. I didn’t get to see it cause, well, I don’t have cable. I do, however, have the internets and was straight watching that shit this morning and now, I’m sharing that shit with you cause it’s the Beastie Boys and only The Westboro Baptist Church doesn’t like The Beastie Boys.
Long before Lady GaGa stuck a phone on her head and called it art the Beastie Boys were making a reputation for putting together utterly awesome videos and this 25 minute epic is no different. It also features cameos from every actor in LA that was off the day they were filming. Seriously, I see Will Arnett, Orlando Bloom, Steve Buscemi and David Cross all get 3 seconds or so on screen. Hell, I think I saw Crispin Glover as a customer in the restaurant scene. Someone should seriously make a cameo bingo or drinking game out of this video.
I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I did.
The original Fight For You Right video for your memory’s sake:
I gotta admit, I like the approach they took with this video. Kind of reminds me of the fake movie trailers in between Planet Terror and Death Proof in Grindhouse. Now, I wonder if, like Machete, they might make it an actual movie.
What do you think of the video? I could see where some people wouldn’t like it cause it doesn’t actually “feature” the song.
