I discovered Sister Golden Hair as a pre-teen kid going through his dads record collection. For some reason the song really struck a cord with me then and I love it to this day. A few weeks ago Aquarium Drunkard posted a Bobby Bare Jr. cover and here I am, reposting it.

I know I have heard that song before.
Somewhere in my record collection a band has lifted that tune and melody but used different lyrics.
I am going to go crazy until I figure out who it is.

There was a great cover of Sister Golden Hair by an obscure Aussie band the Hummingbirds back in the early ’90s. I think I still have the CD single lying around somewhere…
