I know what you’re thing. You’re thinking, “didn’t I just see a March ninebullets kickstarter project a few days ago?” To that I say, “no” and prepare my best Bill O’Reilly shout down defense for anyone who attempts to look four posts back to prove me wrong. Cause that person is a pro-labor baby raper of American dreams and ethos.
On the real though, I figured since I missed February I would do two Kickstarters this month and this one seems like a good one. From their page:
We are the Hobart Brothers featuring Lil’ Sis Hobart. You might know us better as Jon Dee Graham, Freedy Johnston and Susan Cowsill. During last year’s SXSW Conference, we found themselves huddled together writing a couple of songs reflecting on our early days washing dishes for a living, which we all had done early in our careers (joining the ranks of such former dish-washing rock legends as Alex Chilton). The band name refers to the commercial dishwasher known to all aspiring songwriters. None of us want to have to go back to washing dishes to put this record out, but we gotta tell ya, it’s touch and go.
Like I said before, I feel like kickstarter provides us, the fan, a way to directly support the artists we like in a way we’ve never been able to before so I made a new years resolution to support on kickstarter project a month. Flying Spaghetti Monster knows we’ve all downloaded plenty of free music over the years and this is my way of making some sort of amends. If you wish to join me this month The Hobart Brothers featuring Lil’ Sis Hobart’s kickstarter page can be found here.
