Since this is the first Friday of me posting since Christmas, I thought I’d talk about my Christmas for a minute or two. At the age of 34 I got nothing but toys, which is to say I got some cool shit. A remote control helicopter (I already need new blades from crash landings), a Logitech Harmony remote (if you have more than 2 remotes on your coffee table, I suggest this bitch), and my wife caught me completely off-guard by getting me an iPhone. I know the iPhone has plenty of detractors and, to be honest, their points are valid, but I wanted one terribly and my wife went beyond awesome and got me one. I love her and it….but her more….I think…I’m kidding. I also got Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii.

OMFG!

GH3 is so much fun. I think my sister in-law and I completed 3/4 of the game on Christmas night (on easy mode). To say this video game is addictive isn’t even driving the point home…and I’m not a very big video game player outside of Wii Bowling and Tiger Woods Golf 2008. I can see why bars are putting the game on one of their televisions and having GH3 contests. Hell, I’ll probably end up in one once I learn how to at least play on medium difficulty (much harder). I was also pretty surprised at the track listing for the game. It is an excellent mix of pre-80’s classic rock, 80’s rock and more modern rock music….hell, there’s even some Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughan thrown in for good measure. It makes me happy that today’s kids are still gonna manage to get exposed to some of this music.
