Lola, some people are just uncomfortable with the aesthetic of female vocals, and still more have difficulty relating to matters that the other gender conveys through music. It’s not about sexism (well, sometimes it is, but not here), it’s about being able to connect with the music.

Dudes, where the hell have you been hiding and what have you been listening to to make you think you hate female-fronted bands? Its kinda frightening to think you\’re willing to dismiss half the population just because of what they\’re hiding under their skirts or pants. Me? I listen to all kinds of songwriters and bands, male, female, straight, gay, transgender. Its all about the melodies.

See, I’m kinda the opposite of this statement: “Sometimes I�m not sure if I like Holly Golightly or if I just like the idea of Holly Golightly.” I never liked her because I didn’t like the idea of her (or the Headcoatees, really), but there ain’t no use in it. She’s great.

Oh man, you\\\’re the greatest – I, too, hate female-fronted bands but actually love Holly Golightly. I\\\’ve hardly seen anyone mention this album, by the way, so it\\\’s great that you did. Have you tried her earlier stuff with the Headcoatees? The best! Sorry for all the enthusiasm, but thanks for this post.
