A three string cigar box guitar, a pickup wound on a singer sewing machine, a valve amp cobbled together from Fifties parts, a 1930’s Lowboy from Texas, a pre-war marching drum from London, a telephone mic and a brass slide. A cellar in Pennsylvania, a farm on the Yorkshire moors and a room upstairs. All recorded in monophonic on a farm in the North of England.
No overdubs. No effects. No auto-tune. Just 3 chords and his truth. This is the essence of what this thing we call punk blues is.
