I think it was Aaron Watson who told a friend of mine “when you buy my record from the store, a tiny royalty check goes to my house while I’m on tour and my wife uses it to buy a purse or something and I never see it. So share my music with your friends, just bring them to a show when I’m in town and buy some t-shirts. I’ll make a lot more money.” Me, I bought III at a show and put the money right in the band’s hands.
