Over time, doing a music web site can become sort of a vacuum. It can seem like everyone is talking about something, when really it’s mainly just being discussed in what you happen to read, or spoken about in the circle of people with whom you converse.

In case you didn’t know, Arrested Development has been releasing new music. Yes, the same AD that had the hits “Tennessee” and “Mr. Wendal” back in the day. After their newest effort Since Last Time came out, it seemed like everywhere I turned someone was mentioning this new AD reunion album. Now, outside of the fact that the album was rather boring, there’s also the important point that Since Last Time was hardly “new”. It had been out overseas for over a year before it got its October 30 release in the U.S.

But enough about Since Last Time, I want to talk about Heroes of the Harvest now. Heroes was released back in 2002, long before the existence of this web site and my current circles. It came out with zero fanfare and even less buzz, but it was everything you would/should expect Arrested Development to be releasing eight years later. It’s not “Tennessee part 2″, but it was vintage Arrested Development and said more than 90% of the releases that year. It really sucks that Since Last Time couldn’t build on Heroes, but what are you gonna do. I’m not even sure if Heroes got a U.S. release or not, but it is available on Amazon MP3 for less than 10 dollars. Well worth it, if you ask me.

One Response to “Arrested Development – Heroes of the Harvest”

  1. A.R. are the definitive hip-hop group of these modern times. Socially, Mentally, Spiritually, Politically, Rythmically and Universally Conscious, they have returned to their throne as the reigning Kings and Queens of what Hip-Hop should be at its very best without missing a beat. Without them, Rap would simply be a mild form of recreational entertainment and a vehicle for self-indulgent commercial exploitation. This is pure hip-hop, the real hip-hop and without them I would have lost all faith and interest in the genre. Yes there are others who follow the righteous path but A.R. leads the pack. One Love, One Destiny. Peace and Blessings to you A.R. nd Continue droppin knowledge and wisdom for generations to come.
