Authors Note: I am getting out of Florida for a few days to do some mountain biking up in North Georgia. Regular posting will resume on May 22nd assuming I get through the weekend with no major injuries.
Last month I posted the rejected songs to this comp. To paraphrase: I am a member of the International Mix Tape Project a global community of music-oriented souls that exchange monthly compilation tapes and CD-Rs. You can visit the site at www.InternationalMixtapeProject.com, then click on Rules to find out more about IMP.
When I have time I like to do themes and this month I decided to do a devil music theme. Not devil worship music mind you. Just a selection of songs where the devil played some role in the song and I ended up with the following 21 tracks. I’m pretty happy with it. If you want a cd copy of the comp be one of the first 5 people to email me and I’ll drop one in the mail for you.

I think a song by Robert Johnson would have been perfect to add to that…thats just my opinion though…feel free to tell me to STFU if you like

Nice list; I did a Halloween CD a couple of years back where about a third were devil songs. Love the inclusiuon of The Cult. A couple to consider if you do a Vol 2 (although who would need TWO cds of devil songs, right???):
Devil’s Gonna Get You – Bessie Smith
Devil in Disguise – Elvis
To Hell with the Devil – Stryper (always gets a laugh)
Lil Devil – The Cult
Devil Inisde – INXS (a crowd-pleaser)
Devil’s Haircut – BeckTwo more quick ideas. One, what about a CD with all slow devil songs? Could be pretty interesting. Also, what about an all-angel CD, to make a double-CD set? That way, the Angel CD could be Vol.1, and the devil CD could start out with Julie Miller’s excellent “The Devil is an Angel, Too.”
Okay, I’m off to start burning!

I got here via Pop Candy, and expected to see Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” … but that’s a good collection!

Jason – it didn’t make the cut. Check the previous post, The Devil’s Rejects, for that one and others that fell to the wayside.
