Yesterday I received a bill for the site. It’s a regular, monthly bill that usually comes in somewhere between 12 and 17 dollars a month. Well, it was over 100 dollars and a little investigation into matters shows that the current bill for this month (only 4 days old) is already in excess of 20 bucks. Needless to say, this has been quite a shock to the system.

What does this mean for you? Well, outside of mp3’s being unavailable today, nothing. The issue will get fixed over the weekend (hotlinkers can eat a herpes erupted dick), I’ll get the bill paid and things will hopefully be back to normal by Monday. Later today I am gonna post Romeo’s fantastic introduction to Austin Lucas (which will function normally) at which point all other mp3’s on the site will be made unavailable for a few hours.

On another note, the May podcast just isn’t gonna happen. It could if I finished it over the weekend but then the June podcast would be a mere 2 weeks away. Illness, life and planning a concert managed to eat all of May. I apologize and promise to come strong with a new show set to be published on June 25.

That’s it.

  1. Hey, if you want to hang out a tip jar to help with the hosting overage, I’d be happy to throw a few bucks in there…

  2. I suppose i could too from time to time. Its good site and I think also the artists are pleased with your work.

  3. @stucky mod_rewrite could be used for what we’re doing so far, but I’m going to be adding some throttling and detection that is outside mod_rewrite’s scope. Though giving the music links pretty URLs is something I hadn’t thought of that it would handle nicely.

  4. Yeah this is my favorite music site and podcast. If you need a few bucks, you should get a paypal account, I’d be more than willing to help. So is it hotlinker’s that is causing all the extra cost? I don’t know much about web hosting but it seems dumb that it would jump up that much.
