30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE: DAY 2:

So, I’ve decided to do this facebook 30 Day Song Challenge thing and I figured I’d do it here on ninebullets. Feel free to contribute your thoughts in the comments section. So, without further ado:

DAY 02: YOUR LEAST FAVORITE SONG:

This one, really, is as impossible as Day 1: Your Favorite Song. It probably would have been better to have added a (right now) to the ends of both of them. At least, that’s what I thought when I started marinating on my “least favorite song”. Then, as I sat there listing songs I hated (a list that could go to the ends of time probably) I wrote down a track that I immediately knew was the one that this challenge was asking for from me. When this song is playing I literally get angry that I am having to hear it:

Bauhaus – Bela Lugosi’s Dead

Gah! Rage. Hate!
So, what’s your “least favorite song”?

  1. My Day 2 song pissed off my friends, but I get angry when I hear Bohemian Rhapsody. I like Queen, but that song pisses me off. And now it’s stuck in my head.

  2. This ‘least-favorite’ thing would make more sense in a context, like “from a band you like” or “that most of your friends seem to like” or “friends would assume you’d like” etc.

For me it would be something by U2 or Abba. I feel physically sick hearing this shit. But this is asking for a specific song, so I say:

Danko Jones – Falling Leaves (or whatever it’s called).

  3. “God Made Rock n Roll For You”. Kiss. I cringe when I hear it. Not sure what they were thinking unless it was against the churches who said Rock N Roll was from the devil. Either way it is a poor excuse for a song.

  4. Anything by Fleet Foxes – I can’t even muster the courage to look them up.

  5. Mr jones by counting crows is the worst song of all time. Makes me go from having a great time to angry and bored
    I can’t stand it

  6. Ha ha, I’m fond of that Bauhaus song.

The songs I hate most tend to be ones that get forced down my throat a lot on radio and TV. Like a lot of Christmas songs. Or anything from Will I Am.

  7. I agree with Martin Luther Presley, this thread would be better if put in context, i.e. least favorite song by an artist you like or at least a critically acclaimed artist. Otherwise, you have literally hundreds of thousands of shit songs to sort thru. On that note: “Bob” by DBTs, “Candle in the Wind” by Elton John, “Boy Named Sue” by JC.

  8. Im gonna second the Bohemian rhapsody…especially when sang by Butch Walker.
And I agree that the first song that came to mind is a song by one of my favorite bands, I hate. loathe if you will, Janes Addiction’s “Been Caught Stealing”, its the song that got the radio play and I throw up alittle everytime I hear it. Its one of their worst songs. A band like that had so many good songs and the one that made them “popular” was their worst.
Honorable mention goes to Blind Melon’s “No rain” another completely underrated band IMO, so many good songs that were never released and such an early departure from this life by Shannon Hoon. Given the chance he’d be rollin Solo making amazing music.

  9. Black 47 – The Ballad of Cindy Sheehan. It’s the only song I’ve deleted from both my iPod and the back-up hard drive. I really like the rest of the album.

  10. The songs sung my Eddie Spaghetti’s son Quattro that he tagged onto the end of his first two solo albums (haven’t heard the new one, yet).

Don’t share your mics with your little kids, folks.

(That Bobby Bare song with Jr. on the Lullabies, Legends, & Lies LP? Urgh..)

  11. Lot’s of candidates here – I’m going with “We Built This City” by Starship.

  12. That Trailer Park Pulp Fiction song by Colt Ford you had on here takes the cake for me.

  13. That’s a hard one. I hate a lot of songs. In fact I will probably catch grief if I actually mention my least favorite but since it is the honest answer:

Can’t Buy Me Love – The Beetles

  14. Sugarland – “All I Want To Do”

Although there are a lot of songs I hate, just writing about this song or even thinking about it makes my ears bleed. I despise what this group represents and I can’t stand her voice!!
