It seems that there is a rash of ninebullets sticker sightings around the U.S. Here are a couple of more confirmed sightings that showed up in my inbox last night:

It’s no secret that here at ninebullets we’re big ol’ fans of the label Suburban Home Records. Well, they also happen to be fans of us and when I sent them an email yesterday to let them know I had posted a piece about Jon’s new album they asked if we’d be interested in posting some album streams.

Of course I said yes.

So, here is the new Jon Snodgrass album, Visitor’s Band and the new Drag The River album, Bad At Breaking Up, full-album streams. If you enjoy them post a thanks to Suburban Home in the comments section and be on the lookout for more of these in the future.

Jon Snodgrass – Visitor’s Band:

Drag The River – Bad At Breaking Up:

One of the greatest musical regrets I have is ignoring Drag the River for as long as I did. As I mentioned here one time, per their name I assumed they were just a metal band and ignored them for quite some time. Fortunately, I came around in time to see them as a full band once before they “broke up”. Since then I’ve managed to catch Jon and Chad as a duo 3 times and have became a card-carrying member of the Drag The River fan club. Last month we saw what is technically their second posthumous album with this collection of 7″ tracks and B-sides in Bad At Breaking Up.

Bad At Breaking Up features all of the topical points one would expect from a Drag The River record; whiskey, women, broken hearts and barstool anthems. Sonically, the album seems more sparse and calm than most Drag albums, yet the songs do accurately represent the sound and feel of a modern Drag show.

I would not recommend Bad At breaking Up as an entry point to the DTR catalog, but it’s pretty much a must have for any fan of the band. And if you’re reading this and wondering if you should look into Drag The River, then let me answer that for you; Yes. Absolutely.

A reader sent me a photo of their 9b.net sticker:

Last time I mentioned Lucero’s (but mostly Ben) participation in the MTV reality (but not really) show, 5 Dollar Cover: Memphis it got alot of comments both good and bad.

For those asking what the fuck I’m typing about right now I’ll explain a little. 5 Dollar Cover, Memphis was written and directed by Craig Brewer (who wrote and directed Hustle & Flow and Black Snake Moan). The project is made up of a feature-length web-series by Memphis filmmakers and twelve documentaries on the bands in the series produced and directed by Alan Spearman. For more information on the project go here.

Whether it’s good or bad for Lucero to be involved in this project, and more specifically MTV, is really a matter of personal opinion (that should be aired in this posts comment section) but I wanted to mention that some videos featuring Ben and the band have been posted.

One is a performance of San Francisco from the show. The other is a short-film featuring Ben waxing about the pull of the road versus the pull of a woman back home. Watch them and lemme know what you think.
